Hi,
I recently acquired a DesignJet T830 24 which I have been trying to set up to scan to folder.
After a couple of days of trying and failing to setup the scan to folder with all the suggestions
in the manual and online forum messages I called HP support.
I tried to setup the plotter with 3 different mac os versions (10.12.x, 10.13.6, and 10.14.2) with the same failure results.
The scan to folder fail suggestion indicate to check if the shared folder can be accessed by a different
computer to make sure that the folder sharing features are working--I can access the same folder from my macbook pro.
The HP tech support representative, analysed my computer setup, gather all the evidence
he needed to consult with his level II support colleague. The following day I recieved a call back.
After a brief discussion I was informed by the tech that it is a mac os issue and not an HP issue
in the sense that the mac os does not allow the plotter access to the shared folder. I explained
that I am an end user who cannot inform Apple Inc. that there is a sharing issue with the mac os
and I hoped tha the HP tech support would inform or coordinate such a failure to Apple Inc.
I am at an wits end about setting up the scan to folder feature for the T-830 connected through
ethernet to a typical homeoffice internet router and an iMac running os 10.14.2.
I appreciate any feedback anybody can share.
Regards

I solved the issue after extensive trial and error.
Under System preferences/Users, select Guest, then check the box
"Allow guest users to connect to shared folders."
Under System preferences sharing, under users select "read & write" for every user,
then under shared folders, right click on the shared folder name, then click on
"Advanced options..." next select "Allow Guest users"
Thereafter, the scan files had no read & write permissions for any user due to
a mac os shared folder permissions shortcoming.
In the end I found an answer posted by a HP fellow user with the same
issue (differnet HP product) who used a Terminal script command to allow the scan files to
have read & write permissions as soon as the file was saved in the folder.
Regards,
