HP DesignJet Z6200 60-in Photo Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

I just repaired my DesignJet Z6200 after the 24:10 Broken Bag but I cannot get out of the error screen. I tried the restart, holding down cancel+power+down arrow many times. I’ve unplugged it from the wall. I also tried to reinstall the Firmware by putting in the USB and the printer fails out after trying “USB drive does not contain valid firmware file” which I actually think is false because it came with the printer. Can anyone give me idea of what might be going on or give me another way to clear this error? (See photos). Incidentally, when I restart the machine, the initialization goes up to 33% and then goes to that error screen. Not sure if this helps. Thanks!

Just to update this thread for others. The correct sequence is to hold the Up Arrow+OK key (you should be able to do it with one finger) as the machine starts up. Once the % bar shows up, deselect keys and it should go into maintenance mode.

You have to get into the Service Menu.  Here's the instructions from the Service Manual:

Entering the Service Tests menu
NOTE: To enter the Service Utilities Menu, see Entering the Service Utilities menu on page 104.
1. Make sure the printer is switched off with the Power key on the front of the printer and not with
the power switch on the back of the printer.
2. For Call Agents who will request the user to perform certain troubleshooting actions, hold the
Down and Cancel keys down and turn the printer on using the Power key. Wait until you hear one
beep (usually after 5 seconds) before releasing all three keys.
3. For On-Site Engineers, hold the Up arrow key and the Cancel key down and switch the printer
ON using the front power switch. Wait until you hear one beep (usually after 5 seconds) before
releasing ALL three keys.
4. Once inside the Service Tests Menu use the Arrow keys to scroll through the Service Tests
selections. Press the OK key to begin a specific test when the required Service Test is highlighted.

You have to hold down all three keys until you hear a beep or the front panel responds.  I didn't always hear the beep so I just held down all three keys for about a 5 count, then release all three.

I'm doing this from memory because I no longer have  a Z6200 so hoping this helps.

I don't work for HP....I just repair their printers.

@ D Hook (and anyone else who can help)

Thanks so much for your suggestions. I tried that a few times and it doesn't seem to be working. First, the beep never happens. Second, the printer either shuts off, because I have the power key pressed too long or if I let go earlier @ a pretty quick 5 second count it does what it always does and continues initialization and rests within the same error screen it always ends on (24:10 Broken Bag). I have added a YouTube  link to the a video I shot of the sequence here:

Incidentally, you'll notice that the initialization only runs to 33% and then straight to the 24:10 error screen. I am starting to wonder if there's something going on with the hard drive because as per pg. 16 in the service manual saying: If the printer continues to stop during the power-up process, replace the Hard Disk Drive  - See Hard Disk Drive (HDD) on page 340. Does this sound like a possible diagnosis?  I have ordered a drive from Amazon ($36). I will let you know
