Designjet 500ps + GL2
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Printer has been working for years....now gets 61:05 errors. Followed the hp troubleshooting suggestions replacing one by one the printheads. recalibrated for the printheads, and even had the troubleshooting test from the menu sent. all work. Even removed the GL card, and changed the driver still gets the 61:05 error.

I've downloaded and installed the 2012 drivers, even trying several different drivers within the driver configuration.

Also tried from different computer systems. Even replaced the nic card.

Help!!! Any suggestions???

Thanks,

Hi

This printer does not have a HDD but only the HPGL/2 **formatter** to process the files. If the printer works fine without the HPGL/2, you can either get a new one or work without it but using the PCL3 GUI driver. The part number for the HPGL/2 card CH336-67001

for quick fix, remove the gl2  & download & install the PCL driver....... you will get an error 05:10, press enter

to get to ready mode.

I was able to print the test page.....guess i need a formatter board????

Or maybe it's the memory onboard. There isn't a hard drive attached to this module

I made a mistake & replied  you & said formatter. But it was gl2 card.  ( formatter board was for dj800 )

If you removed gl2 card & working with pcl driver, leave it alone....

I like PCL driver & it is faster & less errors.
