Hi,
I am having a problem getting my Designjet 510/Jetdirect 600N to set up on my network. All works fine if I connect to PC via USB but would really like a network connection to allow me to position the plotter in the correct position in our new office.
I have removed driver and re-installed.
The lights are on the network switch and I can ping the plotter and getting a response. Other network printers have set up fine.
During installation, the plotter cannot be found as a network printer. I have installed as TCP/IP using the IP address and software appears to set up okay.
However, when i print test page, an error appears 'Operation could not be completed (error 0x000000cb). The system could not find the environment option that was entered.'
So, wondering if this sounds like a fault in the network card - realise it is quite old - but has worked before at the old office.
Any help would be appreciated.
TIA,
Adam

If you open your web browser and instead of the home page you enter printers IP address do you have access to the printer? If not, replace JetDirect.
Those JetDirect 600N are totally old school if you can get used JetDirect 620N or even better 625N for cheap.

Hi, thanks for the reply.
If I enter the IP address into browser then all I get is a blue screen with HP logo - there is no fields to amend or extra info visible.
I've ordered a Jetdirect 620N so will see if that sorts it out.
Thank you,
Adam

Hi,
I have now installed a new 620N and can now see the configuration page when I enter the IP address into my browser.
I am having the same issue now when either installed via network or USB though.
I can't even print a test page - pop up box appears and says 'Test page failed to print, Would you like to view the print troubleshooter for assistance? The system could not find the environment option that was entered.
I have tried Windows Update for drivers - no difference.
I have also tried installing/connecting to the printer with my laptop and exactly the same thing is happening with either PC.
Please can someone help? It feels like there is something wrong with the driver? Both PC's so far connected have been Windows 10 64 bit if that makes a difference.
Thanks,
Adam
