Reading about this error, the main possibilities are the HD and formatter.
Still not clear to me which try first.

Also, if I buy a HD, does the same drive supports the T790 and the T790 PS ?

The service manual has a "NOTE: If you try to insert a previously used hard disk drive, the product displays a System Error
and will not start successfully". Are drives selling in EBay supposed to be not used before?

What are the issues with a PS plotter and non PS, regarding parts swapping?

I'd appreciate your inputs.

Regards

HP has NO control over what is being sold on Ebay. Buy at your own risk unless the seller will guarantee the is new and unused. Your first step before buying any parts is to update the firmware to the current revision using the emergency usb upgrade procedure.

In terms of parts, I suggest you use the HP partsurfer site to search for correct parts based on your serial number. See the KB article here Not all parts are available but this KB article should provide some guidance on sourcing parts. https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printers-Knowledge-Base/How-to-find-replacement-paper-trays-or-any-oth...
