Hello,
the manual says:
"The printer is Energy Star compliant and can be left powered on without wasting energy.
Leaving it on improves response time and overall system reliability.
[...]
Because preparing and purging the printheads uses both time and ink, you are strongly
recommended to leave the printer always on or in sleep mode,"
Ok, first of all, the consumption of 43 watts in sleep mode is not really low!
Moreover, I can't understand what "powersave" mode is at any point. In this mode, the printer is supposed to consume only 27 watts. But how do you get into powersave mode?
What bothers me most is that the printer goes into sleep mode after 30 minutes, but the fan continues to run permanently.
Is that normal?
Thank you very much!

The small amount of electricity it uses costs far less than new printheads, which it will need if you turn it off and let it sit. Every few hours the printer should wake up and go through a maintenance check and refresh the printheads so it's ready to go when ever you need it. This is a great feature and wish all the HP printers I've owned over the years had it. Especially the 1000 and 5000 series machines.

I believe the fan should stay on as well. If it's making a noise, you may need to replace it. It should be so quiet you won't hear it running. It's an easy fix.
