We have a designjet t730 and we have always used the same roll of paper that is 914mm and weighs >65g/ square meter. We have now recently put in a new roll of it and it seems like the printers accepts it but as soon as we try to print anything it puts out a warning that the required width is 919mm if we press print anyway it prints 2 centimeters of the document and starts spitting out plain paper without any way of stoping it how can we resolve this issue

I would suspect that your printhead has leaked ink and that has blocked the paper sensor that is mounted on the print carriage, or other debris is blocking that sensor. (the printhead is the most common cause I see). Open the  right front door and look for signs of ink leakage. Unfortunately if you see it then you will need to replace the printhead and cleaned the spilled ink out, including a thorough cleaning of the paper sensor. There is also a small brush that is supposed to clean the sensor and that often gets coated in ink and needs to be replaced. Be aware of people who state you must replace the entire service station as the brush is available by itself and in most cases the service station is not full of ink. Part number of the brush is 5HB06-67028.
