I haven't used it in a while but when I was using it I was using it frequently and it was just fine. I got it used, but the previous owner had barely used it. 

 

Turned it back on to try to figure out what supplies it was going to need and it has ink. Everything seems fine but when I try to load paper into it, following the prompts on the screen that's on the printer, it gets to feed the paper into the printer. 

 

I am doing that. It's a new roll. But it's not detecting anything so it's not progressing to the next step.

Could be a faulty OOPS sensor. This detects the top of page so it knows when paper has been fed. You can find the service manual online which will tell you how to test the sensor. It is located in the paper path on right hand side (facing
