HP DesignJet Z5200 44-in Photo Printer

Hello,

On our DesignJet  Z5200 we first got an 8:11 error. We also noticed we got 8 beeps at startup and the first (I) LED light on the formatter board was flashing.

We have tried:

1: Removing and reseating the Formatter board

Re: The error persisted with no change.

2: Changing the button battery on the Formatter Board

Re: The old battery was bad. We replaced with a fresh one. The error persisted with no change.

3: Checking the HDD drive on the Formatter Board

Re: the HDD Drive did not respond when removed and tested It seems to have gone bad. We are unsure what was stored on that drive.

4: Replacing the HDD drive with a different SSD drive from a laptop.

Re: the beeping at startup has gone away and the first LED light (I) has stopped flashing however the 8:11 error still persists and now the second LED (II) is flashing.

We are thinking that perhaps the firmware was stored on that HDD and that we could just format the new SSD to make it compatible and install the firmware. We just don't know how to do that. We are not sure if this is even the proper process but it is what we are willing to try.

Any guidance in the right direction is appreciated.

Thank you!!
