i am getting this error code . Error code-0087-0001. i tried restarting several times and still the error is not cleared.. how to solve this issue?

This error code indicates  a problem reading the encoder strip. That is the mylar/metal strip that runs across the width of the printer and is printed with grid that an optical sensor in the carriage assembly reads to track where the printhead is. Dust or ink residue is the most commmon cause of this problem. You can clean it with a lint free cloth that is dampened with water. Gently clean the strip until the cloth no longer shows any ink. Be gentle, it is possible to damage this strip if you use too much pressure or force.
