I had printer to tell me to reseat red MK red printhead, which I did twice.  The third time I got an error code 2.1.10.  Checking on this it says it can be a PAC carriage problem or printhead problem.  I am hoping it is printhead since I got the notification.  My question is this--How can I get to the printheads with the carriage locked?

it is the carriage box problem... check trailing cable. not related with printheads ..

you need to find the service manual & see steps to remove left front cover. Check the 2 ribbons
plugged onto the pca board. otherwise have to check other side to the carriage box, that will be

much much harder to perform...

I doubt if you could get to the printheads, because that error code comes up very fast.

good luck.

Turn off the power and unplug the power cord.

Look on the back of the right cover (as viewed from the front) and there should be a hole back there and a little sticker that tells you what size torq driver to put in and which way to turn it to free the carriage to move.  Turning the screw moves the service station forward and away from the printheads to free up the carriage.

Ruben, do you recall the size of the torq driver needed?  I don't.

I don't work for HP....I just repair their printers.
