Product: Generic HPGL/2 printer driver
Operating System: macOS 10.15 Catalina

Would it be possible to download and install a generic hpgl driver under macOS to drive a serial attached vinyl cutter (which talks hpgl off course)?

 

I so hate to have to pass files over to a Windows Box for cutting 🙂

 

Seems the HP Smart App wants to talk directly with a printer before installing a "Device" as a printer spool. I'm in need ot having a printer spool that'll only generate HPGL output, which I'll then save to a file to verify in a HPGL viewer before spending vinyl off my cutter. I don't like the idea of having to the need to install a Windows box just to talk with my cutter.

 

I know that Inkscape.app should be able to save HPGL plot format, but would prefer also not to having to import from other design Apps (Ad..be Illu, InDesign eta.) into InkScape inorder to be able to generate HPGL output of designs.
