HP Latex 365 Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello,

My HP 365 with traffic colors won't print traffic blue right. We have changed printheads, ran calibrations. It just randomly started printing a lot darker. Anyone else start having this problem, and was able to fix it? Or does anyone have any other suggestions on how to fix it. We are running it with FlexiSign.

Welcome to HP Support Community, @bcoulter

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

1. Media Profile Verification
1.1 Match Media Between Software and Printer

Confirm the same media profile is selected in:

FlexiSign Production Manager / RIP

HP Latex 365 front panel

Mismatched profiles cause incorrect ink density and dark color output.

1.2 Confirm Media Compatibility

Ensure the selected profile is designed for:

The same material type (vinyl, banner, paper, textile)

The same coating or finish

If unsure, download a recommended profile from the HP Media Finder.

2. Apply Enhanced Color Profiles
2.1 Select Enhanced Colors on Printer

Go to Load Media on the front panel.

Select Roll or Sheet.

Choose Paper Type.

Scroll to the bottom and select Enhanced Colors.

2.2 Purpose

Increases vibrancy

Adjusts color density

Improves Traffic Blue accuracy

3. Printhead & System Calibration Checks
3.1 Verify Printhead Health

Inspect each printhead for:

Good nozzle test results

No missing lines

No severe wear

3.2 Essential Printer Calibrations

Run the following in order:

Printhead Alignment

Advance Calibration (if required by media)

Printhead Cleaning (only if test patterns show issues)

4. Run Full Color Calibration
4.1 On Printer

Open the Color Calibration menu on the front panel.

Run a complete calibration with the loaded media.

4.2 Why This Matters

Balances ink density

Compensates for media absorbency

Corrects shifts that make blues print darker

4.3 Optional (FlexiSign)

If supported, run RIP-level color calibration for additional accuracy.

5. Update Firmware & Software
5.1 Printer Firmware

Update the HP Latex 365 to the latest firmware to ensure:

ICC profile stability

Accurate color interpretation

Bug fixes

5.2 FlexiSign Software

Update FlexiSign RIP/Design tools:

Fixes outdated color engines

Corrects ink limit problems

Ensures proper communication with Latex printers

6. Reprint a Traffic Blue Test File

After performing all steps, print:

A solid Traffic Blue patch

A gradient from light-to-dark blue

A color chart (if available)

This helps verify whether density and tone are corrected.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
