Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Hi,

 

Is a "HP-40 Black 51640AE" cartridge technically identical with a "HP-40 Colour" cartridge ? Because the item numbers seem to suggest this. 

 

HP-40 colour

Yellow- 51640YE
Cyan- 51640CE
Magenta- 51640ME 
 
HP-40 Black
Black- 51640AE

The 400 series only uses the 40 black cartridge.  For color it uses the 44 cartridges.  The 40 color cartridges will not work in the 450C.

Hi,

Here is the datasheet of the 450C

There you will find the part numbers for the ink.
The printer yes, use that number. But the inks are not identical.
