Hello,

I own an HP 9000s APS, a device usually used in combination with some printers to purify the air. Inside it, there are two cubic carbon filters that should be replaced after approximately 2,000 hours.

I replaced the carbon inside the filters before they reached their end of life cycle.

After 2,000 hours, the APS stopped working and now asks for a code for each new filter. The manual states that the codes are provided on a flyer inside the new filter box.

This device is no longer sold by HP.
Where can I find valid codes? Can I bypass the lock? It would be a shame to have to throw away this device and create waste when it still works perfectly after a simple carbon replacement.

Thank you.

It is the APS is using a filter replacement counter rather than actually detecting the filter condition. If the original HP filter codes are no longer available,  Check with HP support or printer service partners to see if they still have archived codes. Some users may have found reset methods, but be careful with bypassing it unless you know exactly what is being changed. It’s unfortunate when a perfectly working device gets locked because of a consumable timer.
