HP DesignJet 800ps Printer (24 in)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I recently resurrected an HP Design Jet 800PS that hasn't been turned on in a couple of years and am attempting to print from my Windows 10 machine which has all the latest updates.   Like the problems described in

I am running into the dreaded 

"the system could not find the environment option that was entered" message when attempting to do a test print.

Unfortunately the descriptions on updates to back out are too old to be effective on the latest version of Windows.  I've also tried finding older drivers, but the Windows 8.1 drivers no longer seem to be available.

 

What can I do to get past this error?
