HP DesignJet T230 24-in

HP DesignJet T230 24-in - is there a compatible Type-3 driver? We use a printer portal system (PrinterLogic) that does not support Type-4 drivers. I have found that the HP DesignJet HPGL2 Driver is meant to (and can as we use it for other models) work well enough with other DesignJet printers, but the driver does not seem compatible with the HP DesignJet T230 24-in.

Why is there no Type-3 driver? Is HP phasing them out? Why?

Assuming that you have tried the PCL3 driver from support.hp.com. I do not have a T230 to check to see. V4 is the future of printing and eventually all drivers will be that format as older versions of windows are dropped from support due to end of life status.

Hi,

Unfortunately, this is not the solution. I have tried a few drivers that are meant to work but do not. T230 is a fairly basic printer, so it is unfortunate that installing these drivers does not work in PrinterLogic. Type-4 drivers are simple enough to setup on a Windows Server, but the real challenge is working around PrinterLogic's limitations.

Obviously I can set this up on a Windows Server, but I prefer to continue using PrinterLogic as it is a tool that is used globally.

Thanks for your comment regardless.
