Dear all,
Maybe you can help. We have a old designjet t790, which stopped working and have had a company in to help repair. However after many replaced parts, it still dose not work, they also not sure what to do next. Any ideas?
Current status is - at 20% first LED flashes, last percentage on the screen is 93/94, error code '59.3:00 **bleep**' then '08:04 if problem persists check for latest firmware release'.
The HDD has been replaced at least twice, Formatter, Interconnect board, have started with and without ink/print heads, have lifted out / in the formatter many times. There was three ink empty, we replaced them also.
Been alot of money so far and council trying to not spend, the company is following the error codes down the list, next maybe power parts. Think we may need to stop now, so any last ideas / thoughts would help?

the 59.3 error indicates that a used part has been installed. This series plotter does not support moving parts between units to test them as system critical data is written to a couple of places and if 2 parts do not have matching information. Recommended action for the 08 error is to perform an emergency firmware update.

Thank you Repairatrooper.
The Formatter is refurbished and we have had 3 HDD as the first would not accept the data (seemingly the HDD should come with a HP matching USB drive for the data, advised cant just download and install).
How would we do an emergency firmware update? Would this be like a factory reset? To note , holding down power button at the front nothing happens.
Thanks

Download the firmware from the website and copy that .ful file to a usb stick. Power off the device, insert the key into the front USB slot on the control panel and then power on the printer and wait. It should detect the firmwares, update the firmware and then restart. I am always suspicious of "refurb" as that usually just means it was taken out of a supposedly working printer and dusted off and stored printer information on the formatter might prevent the device from working. Also replacing the formatter and the interconnect at the same time is going to cause issues as well, especially if they were both used parts and from different machines.
