Hi

I have HP DesignJet Z5400. Can this printer print on PVC material for posters and/or banners? What is the name on paper type should I pick in the printer settings?

Here's a place that might help:

Here's another:

I don't think you can print on PVC material with this printer.  You might try posing the question to the second website and see if they have an more definitive answer.

Hi

Thank you for your reply.

It says “self adhesive material”, banner and signs. Any of these might be considered as “pvc”?

I recall using the self-adhesive material in the past and it worked perfectly fine.  Not sure if it's considered PVC though.  Do a search on Ebay for self-adhesive paper for inkjet printers.  They might have a better explanation of what it's made of.

Here's one for large format printers:  https://www.ebay.com/itm/275524578315?hash=item40268b6c0b:g:2XMAAOSw1UZjYrOX&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAA0L...

Most of the descriptions I've read says it's a vinyl, not PVC.

I also recall trying to use a PVC roll on Designjet 5500 and having poor results.  The ink would just sit on the top of the material and never dry.  Would smear at the slightest touch, even after several hours.

A quick google search for printing on PVC brought up this:  https://bizfluent.com/how-7778938-print-pvc-sheet.html
