Hi, I have a HP DesignJet  Z6 44inch post script printer for the last 4 years but just since earlier today  I cannot successfully load new rolls, I can reload older rolls that have the pattern printed on them just before I remove them but when laoding the new rolls its ask for the paper type, size etc and goes through the motion of loading but then just does not fully load and returns to an unloaded position, very, very frustrating,

but however when I load a old roll with the printed pattern, it does not ask for paper type and just asks for size and loads automatically, ???

any suggestions

You may want to try disabling the "print paper information" to see if that allows new rolls to be inserted. I can find no noted issues with this printer. Also make sure your firmware is up to date.
