Hello,

I have an HP DesignJet Z6200 42-inch Photo (Product number: CQ109A).

The printer is currently running firmware version KHN_03_07_07.1.

I am experiencing a System Error 79:04 with additional code 0x40101001.

The printer does not complete the boot process.

I have already tried:

Power cycling the printer (turning it off and unplugging it for several minutes)

Disconnecting network and USB cables

Restarting multiple times

The error persists.

Could this be related to firmware corruption or hard drive failure?
Is it possible to reinstall or downgrade the firmware to resolve this issue?

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Have a look at this thread: Getting to maintenance menu

I would say that a factory reset is probably likely going to fix any firmware issue if that is truly the issue. I only add that caution because I am dealing with an error complaining about the wrong file format in the job queue, but when I look up the error there are multiple threads saying it only pops up when there is a firmware update that hasn't been installed yet. And, factory reset means you have to setup everything again unless you have a backup of those files somewhere.

If you can find a service manual, many HP printers have an option to factory reset during the boot process. Otherwise, that thread above sharing how to get to the maintenance menu may provide you with a way to factory reset or update the firmware.

Good luck!
