I have recently aquired an HP Designjet 1050c and it works fine when I print to it from a PC, but when I send print jobs to it (PDF, JPG, etc.) from my Mac running Mac OS 10.4.11 (running an older system because I read 10.4.11 was the latest version that worked with this printer) the receiving data message is displayed on the printer, but after several minutes nothing prints. All it does is cut a half inch strip of paper. The printer has Postscript capabilities (at least that's what the sticker on the top indicates). Any advice would be appreciated.

The plus model was just a later model of the same printer. It did not come with postscript but could be upgraded with an optional kit.

The kit is available but pricey.

Another option which I used previously was the old eio hard disk for the 1050CM which has the postscript code and can be used in the 1050C plus

This printer did not come with postscript. The 1055cm came with postscript. I am not a MAC person but you may want to check on the MAC site if there are drivers for the 1050C without postscript where you need either HP GL2 for PCL3 which are the 2 languages this printer understands.

Thank you. That information is very helpful. I'll research the replacement HD solution. Could save considerable money since the other options run from $500-1,500. Appreciate your time and knowledge on the subject.
