HP DesignJet Z2100 24-in Photo Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The printer says there is paper loaded, when in fact there isn't any paper loaded.
Thus there is no way to load paper and print anything.
The front panel display isn't showing any error when idle, only when booted into the diagnostics menu, the error

"53:10 Media sensor detects media loaded. Check also Interconnect 07:10" shows up.
I have no idea what "Interconnect 07:10" is or what to do here.
The option to load new media is locked in the menu and if I try to unload media, it asks to remove the paper from the printer where in reality there isn't any paper loaded.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Paper roll or paper sheet?

Paper Roll. I've never used sheets with this printer.

What is printer environment and how old is the printer?

In the back side you have paper presence sensors that get dirty from dust and printer thinks that the paper is loaded when there is nothing. A cleaning with compressed air might help. On the back side where side paper edge is entering the printer there is where you need to clean.

But if the printer is clean and environment is clean then my theory is wrong.

The printer is about 13 years old and has all the time been here in my office. I tried as you suggested using compressed air, but it didn't help..

Have you tried calibrating the line sensor?

Thanks for your reply. Tried that, but it didn't help either. However, I finally resolved the issue this morning by using some Deoxit on the media sensor connector (the tiny cable underneath where the paper feeds in) and wiggling it back and fourth a couple of times.

The beauty of Deoxit, never had to use it twice, lasts forever.
