One of the common causes of this error is related to a leaking printhead. Open the right side door and look to see if there is excessive ink. If there is you will need to replace the printhead. When this happens often the sensor mounted to the carriage gets coated with ink and is no longer able to detect paper. You need to clean the sensor. The ink on the sensor is caused by the sensor cleaning brush getting coated with ink. The brush is part of the carriage assembly and cannot be replaced by itself. You can try cleaning the brush, doing so by using a damp cotton swab and brushing upwards so that the bristles are not squashed down. I have personally had limited success cleaning the brush and often wind up having to replace the service station. Photo below for your reference.
