Product: Designjet 500
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

HP support said they do not have a driver for HP Designjet 500 on Windows10 (64bit) but perhaps others have an alternative

Hi, Thanks for contacting with HP support forum.

Please try to downloading the hpgl2 driver and setup manually.

https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-designjet-500-printer-series/25301

If possible use windows 7 64 bit.

Lift of time old hardware will not work with new designjet software and in the same time manufecturer will not updated driver based on windows updated. Their have some limitation on hardware which is not handshaking with windows base registry and cant possible to write the windows registry. That's why most of time old hardware will not supported to new windows.

The driver has now been updated for Window 10, works fine in the Creator's Update, and the beta version  beyond that.
