When replacing the Chromatic Red 774 ink cartridge with a 771A cartridge (2 separate new OEM cartridges attempted purchased direct from HP) I encounter a "ink cartridge failure" message. It then asks for the cartridge to be replaced. When replacing cartridge it states "incorrect cartridge installed" I cleaned the contacts, verified the region on the cartridge box is listed as North America and updated the firmware. What is the procedure for initializing the region detection on this machine? Can you recommend any other steps?

After researching it further I found that despite the machine listing the 771A ink cartridge as a compatible cartridge for this machine it is not compatible for Chromatic Red. Literally all other colors will work with a 771A cartridge just not red. There is also a lot of misinformation at various vendors about this so buyer beware.
