I have a designjet 500 c7769b. Tried to install on Dell m6600 workstation. I can not locate any drivers that will allow me to plot. It states driver is not installed. Is there a driver that will install on windows 10 64 bit? Is there a firware update to be able to install win 10 drivers?

Hi,
You can use the following driver to install the printer on win 10
http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?sp4ts.oid=61000&swItemId=pl_56198_2&swEnvOid=4063
Look under Installation instructions for how to.

I tried using the drivers in the link provided and I followed the recomended steps listed but the printer will not communicate with the computer. The link for the drivers are for windows 7 x64, the origional post was for windows 10. The latest driver updates for windows 10 are version 8.1, but that driver package does not have a driver for the base model designjet 500 24 by HP.
Everytime I try to print I keep getting a 61:05 error. I have followed the steps for this error and everything leads back to the drivers. The HP detection software will detect the printer, my laptop is sending the print job, the printer just seems like it cannot read the file.
I am begining to get the feeling that HP just did not make a driver for this printer on windows 10.
Looking for help,
Erik

Hi,
The driver Available on Win 10 is the HPGL2
If you have a HPGL2 Card Installed on your printer, use it.
If you dint have the HPGL2 card, use the PCL3 driver I shared.
I know it is for Win 7
I have used it like that and it works.
Dont use the driver Windows is installing for you, that is the HPGL2 driver and I mentioned before, if you dont have the card it will not work.
I have also used the PCL3 driver for the T120 on a 500 24in

Thanks for the assistance but it still will not work. WHen I install the driver package you recomend, windows and every application installed gives an error message that the printer is not installed. I can go the settings menu and see clearly that it is installed. If I use the windows 10 drivers, windows will recognize the printer but the printer does not recogonize what is being sent and spits out a 61:05 error.
So far I have gotten the printer to print out a test pagem, but not consistantly and even when it does none of the applications on my computer will print to it.
Frustrated,
Erik

Hi,
The 61:05 means that you are using the wrong driver
You cannot use the HPGL2 nor PS driver, only the PCL3/Raster driver
I experienced that problem nad I used the PCL3 driver for the T120.
Do a manual instalation, dont let windows install the printer
