Hi @Chuckmc1,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Error 58:04 on an HP printer typically indicates a problem with the scanner, and it seems like you're encountering this error after replacing the color sensor. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
Step 1: Verify Installation
- Ensure Correct Installation: Double-check that the replacement color sensor is installed correctly and securely in the printer.
Step 2: Check Connections
- Inspect Connections: Make sure all cables and connections related to the color sensor are securely connected to the printer. Ensure there are no loose or damaged cables.
Step 3: Restart the Printer
- Power Cycle the Printer: Turn off the printer, disconnect the power cord, and wait for about 1-2 minutes. Then, reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer.
Step 4: Update Firmware
- Check for Firmware Updates: Visit the HP support website and check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer model. If updates are available, download and install them according to the instructions provided.
Step 5: Reset Printer Settings
- Reset Printer Settings: Access the printer's control panel menu and look for options to reset the printer settings to default or factory settings. Perform the reset and then try setting up the color sensor again.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
