Brand new DesignJet T2600 plotter.
Shipped with introductory ink cartridges, which, in itself, is a scam.
Ink empty now and trying to replace but get error message "Ink Cartridge Incompatible".
The cartridges were recently purchased and are genuine HP.
Checking for a solution on HP forum, there are many, many users having this problem.
Websites are filled with this error.
Got multistep workaround instructions that did not resolve problem, not a solution.
Wasting valuable time messing around with HP product flaws.
A routine task such as replacing cartridges should not be difficult.
Troubleshooting HP products is a cottage industry.
HP product quality has gone downhill, buyer beware!

Where did you buy the cartridges?  Some cartridges are meant to work only in certain regions of the world.

Can you post up the part numbers of each cartridge?  Someone might be able to tell you what region they're meant for.

What country are you located?

I don't work for HP....I just repair their printers.

Cartridges purchased locally, genuine HP:

HP 730 P2V68A 300-ml Cyan

HP 730 P2V69A 300-ml Magenta

HP 730 P2V70A 300-ml Yellow

HP 730 P2V71A 300-ml Matte Black

HP 730 P2V72A 300-ml Gray

HP 730 P2V73A 300-ml Black

United States

If cartridges work only in certain regions, that seemingly makes no sense, complicates unnecessarily.

Contacted local seller of plotter.  Will send new set cartridges, waiting to receive. Believe cartridges have chip that will only allow seller's cartridges to work. Evidently the expensive cartridges I purchased won't be useable. All of this with cartridges is ridiculous, aggravating, waste of time, money. Plotter down now waiting for cartridges. Beware HP, their methods are highly questionable.

Those numbers appear to be correct for your printer.  Good idea to contact who ever sold you the printer and the ink cartridges.  Maybe someone else on this board can give you a better idea of why they don't work in your printer.  I've never heard of having to buy ink from a certain seller due to chip issue.  Usually you'll only run into that when using aftermarket supplies and the chips are rejected by the printer due to them being aftermarket refills.

Hopefully someone can add some insight to your problem.    You should certainly expect to be refunded the money you paid for the new ink that didn't work.

We bought a brand new 60" Z6200 printer at my work place and it came with the starter inks.  After I left, they tried to buy new ink and couldn't find the same number on the cartridge.  Turns out HP had changed the number by one digit or they changed the suffix or something.  Once they got that figured out they had no trouble.  But I'm with you;  it's frustrating to have the printer down for something as simple as a cartridge replacement.   I would've been burning up the phone to whoever sold me the printer!

(BTW, the region issue is usually when you buy HP ink from overseas.  Those don't always work but they usually have a different suffix to indicate a different region.  The A suffix seems to indicate they should work in the US region.  I think I recall some people from Europe buying ink in the US to save some money but then finding out they wouldn't work with their printer.  Not sure what the reasoning is behind it but HP must have a good reason for the different supplies from region to region.  But I'm just another user, not an HP employee so this information is worth exactly what you paid for it.😁)

Good luck.  Let us know what happens, ok?  I'm sure it will help others out.
