We have an internally developed printer monitoring solution that talks to all our HP printers via SNMP and alerts us automatically whenever consumables are running low.
It talks with the printers via SNMP and is perfectly functional with our MFP's, but our new DesignJet Z6 have no discernible information I can find about which OID's I need to monitor to gauge ink levels.
I get 650+ lines of data every time I do an snmp-walk from the terminal, but I have no clue what to look for. Documentation for OID's is non-existing and HP DesignJets are frequently mentioned when people have issues getting enough information.
Is anyone aware of publicly available documentation about OID's for the DesignJet Z6?
So far the best candidates, seem to be 1.3.6.1.2.1.43.11.1.1.8.1.1-6 but they are either 690 or a number hovering around zero when removing the ink container. However they do not change with reduced ink levels, or correspond to any particular ink cartridge. When I remove them one cartridge at a time, it is always 1.3.6.1.2.1.43.11.1.1.8.1.6 that changes, no matter which one I remove.
I need to monitor all 6 ink levels as well as the three Preventative Maintenance Kits.
I can manually pull the information from the XML located at https://[IP- Number]/DevMgmt/ConsumableConfigDyn.xml, but using this programmatically will involve a major rewrite of the tool.
