Product: HP DesignJet T1700 44-in Printer

Good day

I bought this printer and still a beginner with printing on canvas. I bought the ink HP 730 300ml ink as per requirements for this printer.  However on the canvas which is made from polyester and water resistant smutches. However I could not see another type toner that would work for this.  I would so appreciate suggestions as I would like to print on the canvas and the same thing will probably be an issue on gloss photo paper. 
Or do I need to spray it with a protection?
