I have a Designjet T2500 inkjet plotter.  When I plot presentation color prints, the initial print looks great but the colors fade quickly leaving a washed out effect.  I have read that the quick dry papers can have this issue and also that being exposed to the air can also accelerate the effect.  This is my  4th HP large format plotter and it has the worst color fading issues of any that I have owned.  I have older prints from tthe previous models that still look good.  Are there better inks or papers that will solve this.  It is distressing to see the presentation work degrade so quickly.  I realize that pigment type plotters do not have these issues but my previous plotters were not pigment based.  Any ideas?

thank you in advance.

I would look at your paper choices first. Some are much worse than others. If longevity is your goal, check the paper specs for archival rating.

Thank you,  I will look for that information on the paper.  The different types of large plotter presentation papers available seems like it has really limited over the years.  I do not mind paying more for paper that will hold the colors but it is disappointing to see beautiful color photos 50% faded in just a few months.  I have a photo on my wall that I plotted which receives no direct outside light but it has gradually disappeared.  A collage of photos for my daughters wedding shower printed on one large sheet is 1/2 as intense in 3 months.  I also have a large colored graphics piece that I printed on my 2nd plotter,  an HP Designjet 650C, twenty years ago and it is still vibrant.  I was led to expect more from my HP plotter.

Hi,
Try to chose other Papertype option when you load the roll.
Try to reduce the print quality in the driver. The old UDP has a scroll Priotize Speed - Quality. With higher quality it will use more Ink and make more wet. Try prio speed in the driver
