HP PageWide Color Flow MFP 586z
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

After receiving a new HP PageWide Color Flow MFP 586, we took the machine out of the box and plugged it in. Imediately we received the following errors on the screen:

"61.C4.D3 Error

To continue turn off then on

Turn power off then on.

If this message reappears, record this message, and contact support.

This affects printing, ut some scan funtions might still be available. Touch "Hide" to remove this message and use other features."

and after clicking Hide, we receive the following error:

"61.00.00 Error

To continue turn off then on

Turn power off then on.

If this message reappears, record this message, and contact support.

We've already turned the machine off then back on but are recieving the same messages. We've tried unplugging the machine and plugging it back in. No change.

We were able to get the machine on the network and apply an IP address through the GUI, but we cannot print. There are no error messages when we print, only the same errors that appeared after the machine was turned on.

I've checked the HP community and support pages but I have not seen any information on what these error codes are. Any assistance is much appreciated.

There are a few things that can cause this. Essentially the print-bar inside the printer is not being allowed to move and the product is producing this error. There could have been damage caused by shipping, or the print-bar restraint was not removed from the door behind the HP logo.

If the printer has been damaged, there is a part that a service tech can come an replace that will resolve this issue. Have you had the issue resolved by calling into HP support yet? Your printer should be under warranty if it is new.

I did call tech support and since we have the printer under warranty they’ll be sending a technician out to fix the printer tomorrow. It looks like there may have been some damage to some of the cables inside the printer during shipping. Luckily it looks like the cables can be replaced.
