Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

So our office uses a T1200 with a 4500MFP scanner mounted above.  Tried to calibrate today and got most of the way through before getting an error 100-40039.  Can't seem to find a reference to this code anywhere.  Cleaned glass and white strip as requested but two attempts both failed with same error code.  Haven't tried rebooting touch screen.  Cycling the power on the scanner has no effect.

Anyone have an idea what the code means or how to get it to calibrate?

I need to check that model number of the scanner.  Not sure if 4500 or 4520 or ?

I don't work for HP....I just repair their printers.

Thanks David!

I'm right next to the scanner now so have a little more info.

First of all, it's a T1200 HD MFP.

When it goes into error, it says the following:

Calibration Failed:

ERROR 40-39:  CBx, Camera A  AMP RAM ERROR

Error during

Internal Basic Calibration

Just rebooted the system and we'll see what happens next.  Going to study the info you gave me David.  Good starting spot.

David, the link you provided was perfect!  I ran the Scan6 tests and the camera alignment function solved the problem.  Got the scanner to calibrate and it's back up and working great.  All the error messages have been cleared.

The scanner is supposed to be calibrated about each month and this one hadn't been done for almost two years!  I don't know exactly what was the problem, maybe the cameras had reached their maximum movement and couldn't adjust any further?  Don't know.  But I told the other folks in the office that it's better not to let it go for that long in the future.

Also, I was able to find the whole service manual online so that helped a great deal.

I don't know what a tech would've charged us to fix this but it can't be cheap.

So thanks again David.  Once more, great solve!
