I'm looking for media suggestions for the older Designjet 500. I would like to do canvas prints with this new (to me) machine.
I see in the manual for it that HP Studio Canvas is listed, but this material does not seem to come in 42" width and is dicsontinues thus its not easily obtainable. The closest match I have found is HP Proffessional Matte Canvas.
I would greatly appreciate any first hand experience with this combination or knowledge on technical compatibility.

This probably goes for the 500 model as well:
FYI. I just came across this print media manufacturer yesterday for aqueous [water-based, UV dye and dye (non-UV) water-based ink] inkjets like the Models 5000 & 5500 & 1000 Series.
The manufacturer is Sihl Inc. They manufacture compatible media for HP aqueous ink as well as other media, I assume. Actually I'm not sure how the cost compares to HP media, but I'd assume it's more affordable. (For one, they make an adhesive vinyl that seems to substitute for HP Colorfast Adhesive Vinyl. ....Don't have the specs. on it before me.)

Myself used DJ500 since year 2000.. I recommend you get the matt poly canvas online.....
You must first calibrate the color after you loaded as canvas...the icc profile I seen was best matched
with icc profile of hp glossy photo paper. after you printed & use the rustoluem glossy coating which
uv resistent....
Do not use glossy canvas, even looked good, but not water resistant & fade quick. I got many pissed countless times
from angries.
