Where do I start? From the beginning this printer has been a disaster. I got it just a couple of months ago and don't do a lot of printing with it.
Here's a list:
- Rarely cuts sheets so to be safe I print one at a time.
- Often jams in the machine anyway.
- Randomly turns itself on in the middle of the night. After I powered it down.
- Software issues are huge. Installed multiple instances in my device list.
- Software randomly sees it and randomly says it's offline.
- Cannot set print profiles for different sources and sizes. Have to select all the various options anew every time I start a print job.
- If I say to print from the tray, it will sometimes decide it wants to do a sheet - of a different size, which then creates an error in the print queue.
- NOW, the real issue: I can't clear the print queue (following all your instructions). Only clears if I uninstall all and try reinstalling.
- Now won't show print preview.
Tried reinstalling all the software and driver (after removing). I now have multiple instances in the device list (which I CANNOT remove). Now I can't get it to print at all.
So, dear friends at HP, can you give me one good reason to keep this thing? Can I get my money back? I will not replace it with an HP product.

Just did another full uninstall and a full re-installation of the driver and software. Was able to print a test page, ad drawing on a sheet and one on a roll.
I will see how this goes, but still will be holding my breath when something is stuck in the queue.
And still don't trust it will not jam or not cut the sheets when sending more than 1 to print.
One thing I wonder about: when I look at the port that is assigned to the printer, it is HP0AAAC1.myfiosgateway.com_4. Should I set this to my internal IP address on a standard port?

Hi,
Make sure your plotter is set on a static I.P address, otherwise it will stop printing.
I am attaching my video link please have a look.

I agree it would be better to do on a static IP. My other issues still remain to be seen.
But to be clear, I never had it drop off the network. It just stopped printing with errors in the queue. But I think doing this will help.

if you are printing plans better install the hpgl2 driver. It resolves a lot of issues related to prints. I will make a video on how to delete drivers properly and share you next week. It may helpful for you.

It is two weeks later. It will print but still randomly doesn't cut. So, I will have to do one page at a time for now. And will still use my blueprint service for most of my work.
New issue:
I got a message that my print preview software was old, and I should update it. Tried installing many times. Installer starts then disappears. Now I have no print preview. Give me the old one back. I need it because I cannot always be sure that the printer got my paper size, orientation and source correctly. It was often not. Now I just have to guess it will work.
Found the Print Preview in the list of programs and deleted it. Installed again. Nothing happens on the screen. But it shows up again in the programs control panel. And even though I downloaded the "newer" version, I get the same "software is out of date" message and no print preview.
Your software is horrible.
