HP Smart Tank 515 Wireless All-in-One

can anyone help me solved my printer issue? i'm currently using smart tank 515 and it's just over a year since we bought it. everytime that we'll print multiple pages, the 1st page is okay but the succeeding pages are misaligned. i also noticed that it will start a loud sound from 2nd page moving forward. we tried cleaning and aligning the printhead but still the same result. even paid authorized service center to fixed the issue but still the same. i also saw same issues here but with a different unit or model so i can't apply the solution given. please help. thanks a lot

@crlmh, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

It sounds like you're dealing with a common issue in some HP printers where the alignment or hardware might be slightly misconfigured, leading to page misalignment and loud noises as printing progresses. Since you've already tried cleaning the printhead and got service, but the issue persists, we can try a few more steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.

Here are some Recommended troubleshooting steps you can follow for your HP Smart Tank 515:

Check the Ink Tanks and Printhead Alignment

Re-align the Printhead:
Even though you've cleaned and aligned the printhead already, it's good to do it again using the printer's settings.

On the Printer:

On the printer's control panel, tap on Setup (gear icon).

Select Printer Maintenance > Align Printhead.

Follow the on-screen instructions.

Via HP App:

Open the HP app on your phone or PC.

Choose the Printer Settings > Print Quality Tools > Align Printhead.

Perform a Reset

If there are any underlying errors in the printer’s internal memory, a reset might help.

Turn Off Printer: Power off the printer and unplug it from the power source.

Wait for 30 seconds: Let the printer sit without power to reset internal systems.

Plug In and Power On: After waiting, plug the printer back in and power it on.

Check Paper Handling

Misalignment and loud noises can sometimes be caused by paper feed issues:

Ensure the paper tray is loaded correctly and not overfilled.

Make sure the paper is not curled or wrinkled. Flat, dry paper works best.

Clean the paper feed rollers (you can do this manually with a lint-free cloth).

Open the paper tray, remove any paper, and gently clean the rollers with a damp cloth (don't use alcohol).

Check for Obstructions or Jammed Paper

Open the printer and check for any paper jam or debris in the paper path, including around the printhead area. Even small pieces of paper can cause loud noises and misalignment.

Remove and Reinstall the Printer Software

Uninstall the current printer driver from your PC.

Reinstall the HP App.

When prompted, follow the installation steps and reconnect your printer.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
