hp Designjet 130nr
macOS 10.12 Sierra

My hp Designjet 130nr, when turned ON, hangs on the LCD display and shows a flashing hourglass icon in the upper left corner of the LCD screen. I can't seem to be able to get past the flashing hourglass icon.

When I input the combination of keys using the Power button, the Cancel button, and the Continue button to acheive a display of error code(s), I was able to identify the numeric error number 192, which according to the service manual indicates that the printer is initializing the VPPA. I have no idea what that acronym means.

Anyone have any ideas what I might do to get past the flashing hourglass?

I am powering my Macbook Pro with Mac OS X 10.12.6 currently and is connected to my Macbook Pro via a USB 2.0 cable directly. I also have a JetDirect 610 ethernet network card installed and have it currently removed from the Designjet 130nr. I do not have a roll-feed option installled into the Designjet currently. Help!

John, is this you?

I came across this site which seems to indicate that the problem could be a bad cover sensor:

....and this guy says that upon getting the constant hourglass he reseated all cables, and then it worked:

Hope this helps.

A couple of other things to possibly try.  ....I have heard of updating the Firmware.

And uninstalling and reinstalling the driver.
