HP Recommended

Hi,  Looking to buy machine from a wholesaler in another state but they cannot test it because of needing password.  Is there a way to get the meter on XL4000 if password protected? Before buying machine untested would at least like to get meter count.  My HP guy said he would be able to reset password if I end up buying machine.
