From reading another thread i think i see the cause but don't know how to resolve it. other thread mentioned that driver numbers need to match(see image). i just notice that windows installed an hp driver on the march 18th. i had no issues before the March 18th, so this leads me to believe this may have something to do with it. doing an uninstall didn't work. and i don't see where this driver is located so i can attempt to roll it back. any ideas.

Have the same problem.

HP Print was working fine but now seems outdated.

Uninstall all and installed the recommended "HP DesignJet and PageWide XL Windows Printer Driver installer" version 3.4.9.1611. This pack installs "HP Print Preview" by default, but no luck.

Hey, could you go to your windows update section in settings and goto view update history. and under driver updates do you see HP - Printer - 61.2201.0.100. i think this is causing the issue. but i don't see where to revert or remove this update.

CRussel2k - I checked my driver update history and found a HP - Printer update 61.2108.1.100 installed on 01/20/2022, but my print preview issue happened after that date.

Yeah i think this is the cause. HP needs to update print preview drivers so they are on par with the HP - Printer - 61.2201.0.100. Because currently print preview version is 2.2108.1.142. Read in another post that the 2nd numbers have to match. Screenshot 2022-03-24 110005.png

1) You can try to uninstall all.

2) To stop automatic update:

Run command sysdm.cpl and go to the hardware tab. Click device installation settings and check no.

3) Install 61.2108.1.100 drivers from HP

Hope this works until HP update to 61.2201.0.100 drivers for HP Print Preview

Same problem with my HP DesignJet T230 😒

Tried to uninstall everything and reinstalled it all again, worked for like a week and now its the same problem again.

Not sure if its worth waiting for an update or if its better to refund this printer...

@Maxi_Meilan I think you are right about the driver update.  Thank you for pointing that out.  The suggestion of using sysdm.cpl, etc., seems like a fair idea but would this not stop automatic updates for all devices?  Then, I have to uninstall and reinstall the printer and, when HP figures this out, take the cue to restart automatic updates for my other devices?  It is a practical suggestion to resolve this issue of outdated print preview but it seems -- and please clarify if I misunderstand something -- to introduce the potential for other problems.  Thoughts?
