T730

I have an Designjet T730 that is not printing yellow  at all and blue not well, red and black seem to be printing fine. The problem was caused by it sitting for a period unused. Not especially long time, but long enough apparently. There are no error messages and it seems to think the cartridges are full.  I have done the printhead cleaning multiple times after which the blue seems better but I still have no yellow. I replaced the yellow cartridge and that did not help. The organization I work for is in a little bit of a tight money situation so I can't do replacement parts right now. Is the problem possibly in the printhead? Is it possible to clean the printhead the printhead manually? Is there anything else I can try before replacing parts?

I would try physically cleaning the printhead with water and some blue shop towels. Then do a printhead cleaning with the machine.

Remove the printhead and with no cartridges installed, set it on a towel that is in a dish of warm water. Make sure the water not too deep, you just want the bottom of the head to soak to loosen any dried ink. Leave soaking for about 10-15 minutes, then gently dry, reinsert and try cleaning again.
