I have an HP T3500 that it keeps saying to install a new printhead. It is already a new print head. Help. Are these printheads under warranty? Hardly used it until it quit

Did this printhead ever work? If no, then you could remove the head and clean the nozzles in the carriage with a water dampened Q-tip so that they are clean and still damp and then try reinserting the printhead.

Out of box printheads rarely fail. The more likely scenario here is the carriage board is bad and needs to be replaced. Pretty easy to do. Remove printhead, turn off, Unplug ribbon cable and two screws. CR357-67081. Not to expensive also. When this happens you can reseat the printhead again it it will work but later that day or the next it happens again.
Try the same printhead and if it wont install then you call HP tech support and they may want to step you through basic troubleshooting to warranty the printhead.
The other option here is the service station is very old and covered in waste ink and the minute you installed the new one it moved the printhead over the service station and clogged up the new one. If you tell it to replace the printheads and once the printhead is in the middle of paper path look into the right end cap and see how much waste ink is flooding the surface. will always be an inky mess but don't want big sticky buildups on the wiper pads of close to the surface. I would recommend Service tech for that one unless you want to risk a mess.
