I have a HP DesignJet Z5600. How can I determine how much paper is left on a roll? I have several partial rolls and would like to know how much is left on each. Thank you!!

You can enable 'barcode tracking', which tracks both remaining length and media type. It works as follows: when a new roll is inserted, the printer will ask for its length. You know that length from the media roll specs. Then, every time you unload/load that roll, a small barcode will automatically keep track of the info.

You cannot use this method for already-used rolls, but will be helpful for the new ones.

If you have not used tracking on the rolls as suggested in another answer, there is not much the printer can do. If you have a new roll, weigh it and then compare the weight of your remaining rolls. For instance if a new 300 foot roll weighs 3 kilograms then we know that a roll that weights 1.5 kilograms would be around 150 feet. This of course assumes that the two rolls are identical paper type and weight.
