Initial start up of Design Jet Z9 Pro and got system error:  0086-0010-0065.  Restarted printer as suggested with the same error appearing again

Some sort of carriage error, but the service manual does not list it. You really need to either engage a technician or be prepared to enter the diagnostics mode and run tests on carriage related items such as the line sensor and encoder strip.

 

Was this recently serviced? If so, did the tech calibrate the line sensor? If not that is possible cause of the error. I have found the requirement odd. You need to feed a blank sheet through the back to be able to launch the calibration sequence, but it does not feed the paper through so I have also found I have to manually insert a sheet under the starwheel assembly under under the print carriage so that the sensor can calibrate.
