I had to replace one of the ink cartridges and as it is an aftermarket cartridge it didn't want to recognize it.  Then the printer said there was a paper jam (there wasn't) and now the carriage is stuck all the way on the left and the status of the printer says a door is open.  No door is open.  I have shut down the power several times and nothing is getting the carriage to reseat to the correct location.

The final "solution" for me was to clean the carriage belt and to insert all new ink cartridges.  Well only the color ink cartridges, just reseating the black ink cartridge was enough.

It is quite possible that the cartridge did not lock in properly and has now popped out and is blocking movement of the print carriage. I have seen this happen and you either need to find a way to reach in and hold the cartridge out of the way while you move the head out (power off for this) or you need to remove the left side cover if you cannot reach the cartridge to reseat it.

I'll try reseating the cartridges.  I did try to take the left cover off but there must be another screw I am not seeing to do it.

Never mind, I can't get in there to reseat and can't figure out how the cover comes off once I have removed the screws.

So after finally figuring out how to remove covers, one of the cartridges did need to be reseated but upon fixing that and moving the carriage to the right (with printer unplugged) I got the following two error codes:

1. "blue screen of death" with a power symbol and C8190210

I turned off the printer and was able to clear that code, but the carriage was still not moving and the message on the screen was to change the ink cartridges.  I instead reset the printer to factory default settings. As I was setting the time, the printer was trying to move the carriage and it gave me the second code

2. Event Code: 0042-0117 which has to do with the ink carriage.  I can not see any debris and the carriage (with the power off) moves freely on the rails.  The belt appears to be connected correctly.
