Worn out print heads.

Getting 1000 error code on old designer 500 plus 42". The printer is used probably once a year and print heads are showing 0% usage. They are not clogged and if I fo colur calibration they are all perfect. However I'm gorever getting printhead worn out message. The print heads although old are perfect. How can I tell printer they are good and not worn out due to age. Thanks
