Hi guys,
So i bought a Designjet Z5200 at an auction (dead cheap, and i kind now know why) . And of course once I got it home, I had to test it and see which error it was providing.
The error as stated in the headline - is 02.1:10 which translates to something like "There is a problem with your Carriage PCA". So i did a little testing and decided to get a new one, just to be sure.
Once I got the new one home, it was installed and the machine was put back together again. Booted it up and recieved the same error. So thought it might be the trailing cable, because thats basically the only connection to the machine the Carriage has (apart from the big cable, but thats for the INK and shouldnt give the above meantioned error).
Tested both cables and no problem with connections there.
So it seems that there is all the expensive stuff left to replace. 😞
I was able for a breaf second or 2 to get into the diagnostics menu, but it went back to the forementioned error.
- Would that error come up, if all the printheads was removed?
- Ive seen others recommend replacing the whole carriage assembly, but i dont understand why? The Carriage itself dosnt have any other connection than the trailing cable, right?
- Does this machine need a brand new PCA main board?
So im left with a lot of questions and not a lot of answers 🙂
Any ideas? Any tips or tricks?
ps: I know, that the code refers to having a tech out to fix it. But those are pretty darn expensive. And I wanna do as much as I can before I call the cavalry 😁
