After downloading firmware update CH_05_00_00.5 a couple of weeks ago, my user started getting a System error code 79:04 when printing. 

 

After researching, I saw that one of the enhancements for update CH_04_00_00.9 was to fix the random System error code 79:04 when printing.

 

I rolled the firmware back to previous version, CH_04_00_00.9, and there has not been any problems.

 

Has anyone experienced this?  Know what the cause is?  How to fix?

If the old version works, then use it.  Until they come out with another upgrade there is probably nothing you can do.  If you upgraded for another issue they perhaps you can contact hp customer care, but they may charge for the support.

Do you know how to roll the firmware back to the previous version, CH_04_00_00.9? My keypad is stuck on the error screen.

If you turn the printer off, then back on, when do you get the error?

Also, let us know al what you see on the screen when the printer is powering on.
