designjet t3500

Hi.

Does the latest designjet t3500 firmware have the "disable core end detection" option in service utilities?

Im having a problem with mine, when printing, the machine says there are paper tension problems and unloads the roll

Happens on both rolls. Have done the paper advance calibration, line sensor calibration and reset the rewinders.

Have you tried a paper roll from a different lot to rule out an issue with paper?

The problem does indeed seem to be with the paper roll.
The diameter of the paper roll cardboard core must be slightly wider than normal, this allows the roll to intermittently slip on the spindle, the machine picks this up and throws up the paper tension message, and unloads the roll. It happens so quickly its almost impossible to see it.
I found the disable core detached utility in the service mode. It switches off this tension detection system and seems to have overcome the problem
