I am getting a row of dots down one side on every print.

Could anyone tell me what causes the issue ?

The fact that once you clean that area the dots go away tells us that the plotter is somehow still disposting ink in that area. Do what the post above has asked and I would also remove each printhead, one at a time and clean the edges to make sure there is no residual ink being placed down by those edges. Do not clean the center of the printhead with anything since you could damage the nozzels.

On the printer go to the ink menu and click on replace printheads.  When the carriage moves to the left, open the top cover and with a flashlight look to the right of the carriage next to the service station.  You will see a build up of ink on the left side of the service station and use a rag dampened in plain water to remove the ink.  Do not touch the rubber or inside of the service station. This build up will be to the left of the service station on the ledge.

Hi

This area keeps getting dirty. Now I have to clean it every single day. (otherwise I am getting dots and marks)

Please let me know how I can resolve the issue

Thanks you

Hi,

Try cleaning the encoder strip, in case that it is not moving to the right possision to fire the ink

Also, make sure the printheads have a good healt, you can check this on the EWS. the lower the healt the more maintenance it needs

Best regards
